Typeglow gives you full control over how subtitles look on Netflix and YouTube — no more squinting at thin white text on a bright background. LIVE STYLING Change font, size, color, background, edge style and position and see the result instantly on the video — no page reload, no "Apply" button. PER-SITE PROFILES Each site remembers its own settings. Tune YouTube for your setup and Netflix for another without one overwriting the other. PRESETS, YOUR WAY Start from four built-in presets or save your own. Export your custom presets to a JSON file and import them on another machine in one click. SUBTITLE POSITION Use the position slider on Netflix and YouTube. Experimental Netflix Alt/Option dragging is also available; fullscreen and resize behavior for dragging is still being tested. Keyboard shortcuts let you nudge font size and position without touching the mouse. READABILITY, TUNED Choose an edge style (shadow, strong outline, or none) and add an optional darkened backdrop band behind the subtitle line for hard-to-read scenes — without boxing in every single word. Fine-tune line height, letter spacing, and maximum line width so long captions wrap where you want them. FONT BY LANGUAGE Assign fonts to 20 language choices and choose a default for other captions. Vietnamese Be Vietnam Pro is bundled; additional system fonts depend on your device. Detection runs locally and can misidentify short or mixed language cues. Turn Auto language font off to use one font for all captions. CUSTOM FONTS Upload your own font files (.woff2/.ttf/.otf) and assign them per language — everything stays on your device, nothing is downloaded. HOTKEYS Adjust font size and position from the keyboard out of the box. Preset cycling and styling on/off (to compare with the original) are available too — assign keys for them in chrome://extensions/shortcuts. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Nothing leaves your device. To pick the right font, Typeglow reads the subtitle text on screen and checks its language locally — that text is never saved or sent anywhere. Your settings stay on your device in Chrome's local storage. The extension makes zero network requests at runtime — everything it needs (including fonts) is bundled in the extension itself.
