Overview

Get back text lost to crashes, closed tabs or failed forms. Saved privately on your device. Nothing leaves it.

Ever lost a long message because a tab crashed, a session expired or a form failed to submit? Typeback quietly keeps what you type, so you can get it back with one click. HOW IT WORKS • Type anywhere: comments, emails, chat boxes, AI prompts, forms. • If the text is lost, click back into the empty field. A small "Restore" tag appears. Click it and your text is back. • Open the Typeback popup to search everything you typed, see older versions and copy them. • Shortcut: Alt+Shift+Z restores the latest text for the field you are in. NEVER SAVED • Password, credit card, CVC, one-time code and similar fields • Payment pages like PayPal, Google Pay and Stripe checkout • Any site you add to the ignore list or pause from the toolbar PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything stays in your browser's local storage. • No server, no account, no sync, no analytics, no network requests. • Export or delete everything whenever you like. FEATURES • Works with rich editors such as Gmail, Discord, ChatGPT, Notion and GitHub • Version history per field • Keep text for 1 day up to forever • Light and dark theme • 28 languages Note: Google Docs draws text on a canvas, so it is not supported.
