Typeback – Recover Lost Text & Form Data
Overview
Never lose what you typed. Typeback saves your text as you write and restores it after a crash, logout or accidental refresh.
You wrote three paragraphs. The session expired. Everything is gone. Typeback quietly saves long text as you type it, anywhere on the web, and hands it back the moment you land on an empty field. No account, no setup, nothing to remember. HOW IT WORKS Type anywhere. Typeback saves in the background. When you come back to a field that should have text in it, a small green return arrow appears in the corner. Click it, pick a version, done. Four ways to get your text back: • The arrow in the field itself • Alt+Shift+R to restore instantly • Right-click a field, then "Restore saved text here" • The toolbar popup, with search across everything you have written BUILT FOR THE MODERN WEB Most form recovery tools only understand plain textareas, which is why they fail on the sites you actually use. Typeback also handles rich editors and web components, so it keeps working in: • AI chats — long prompts survive a refresh or a failed request • Gmail, Outlook and webmail drafts • Reddit, LinkedIn, forums and comment boxes • GitHub, Jira and Notion-style editors • Job applications, insurance, visa and government portals • CMS and e-commerce admin panels VERSION HISTORY Typeback keeps up to 25 snapshots per field, so you can go back three steps, not just one. Each one is stamped with the time you wrote it. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything stays in your browser. Typeback has no server, no account and makes no network requests — you can verify it in the permissions. Never saved, ever: • Passwords and password fields • Card numbers, CVV codes and IBANs • One-time codes and API keys • Banking, payment and password-manager sites • Incognito windows, unless you turn it on Add your own sites to the never-save list, choose how long drafts are kept, or pause capture entirely — from the popup, in one click. FREE All features, no limits, no ads, no affiliate links, no tracking. Looking for a Lazarus Form Recovery alternative that still works today? That is exactly why Typeback exists.
