Overview

Let a tiny analog tape mechanism respond to typing without reading what you write.

Type Deck places a small animated cassette near an ordinary text field on the tab you choose. The reels respond to single-character key events, reverse briefly for Backspace and slow down according to a selectable inertia. The popup offers three visual finishes, a preferred above/below placement, inertia and cassette size. When a nearby input would be covered, the cassette moves beside the active field or to the other side. The extension does not read field values or build a typing transcript. It excludes password fields, unsupported types, and many fields whose name, ID, autocomplete or accessibility label suggests payment or other sensitive information. This screening cannot identify every custom sensitive form. Stop or navigating away ends the page session; reduced-motion preference suppresses typing impulses.
