Stockpile more tweets to your offline library by adding the Twote Stockpiler extension to Chrome. Save tweets upon liking them, bookmarking them, retweeting them, or simply viewing them: Configure save triggers in extension. The Twote Stockpiler complies completely with the X(itter) Terms Of Service by making no API calls of its own and only parsing what gets fetched naturally from standard use of the site, and for compliance reasons, the extension does not include crawlers for automated scraping. Setup: After adding to chrome, go to x.com or twitter.com and click the extension's icon in your browser's toolbar. If in "Manage your plan" it says "@Unknown" or "Twitter User", reload the page and click the extension's icon again: If you see your account's username + handle + avatar, that means the extension should be working and capable of making saves. From there, install the desktop app if you want the extension to behave like the demo video, or go to the extension config and disable App-based downloads if you want to be able to save tweets without it being a prerequisite that the desktop app is currently running. How it works: The extension has two stockpiling methods: App-based downloads (default), and Browser-based downloads. App-based downloads are immediately injected into the Twote Library desktop app's tweet stockpile with a blue flash denoting what was added. Browser-based downloads save to subdirectories of your /Downloads/ folder (default: /Downloads/Twoted/) and are not added to the desktop app's tweet stockpile until the user clicks the refresh button thereby triggering the desktop app to pull any records in /Downloads/Twoted/ Do note: -App-based downloads require the Twote Library desktop app (downloadable at https://twote.co) to be running in order to trigger successfully. -Whether triggering a refresh action or launching the Twote Library, the desktop app will only pull from /Downloads/Twoted/; if the Twote Stockpiler extension is configured for Browser-based downloads to save to a subdirectory other than /Twoted/, then the desktop app will not pull those records. -Browser-based downloads have "conflictAction"s set to "overwrite" to save user disk space, but rapid impression-based saves have the potential to trigger SaveAs dialogues to appear for the user to click through. If this becomes a problem the extension configuration allows for setting conflictAction to uniquify. From there, the Twote Library desktop app will deduplicate redundant files automatically when pulling from /Downloads/Twoted/ Pricing: One week of free trial access automatically begins upon adding the extension and opening twitter, no card or registration required. Cancellations: Cancelling an account's subscription is as straightforward as typing it into twote.co and clicking enter, or clicking "Manage your plan" in the extension and clicking cancel. To preclude the possibility of malicious third parties cancelling on a user's behalf, the extension's plan management page allows users to require than their plan be cancelled by somebody logged into their account on X(itter). Enabling this, however, automatically cancels renewals of any gift subscriptions which may be currently active, thereby requiring a new card to be put on file in order for automatic renewals to be enabled again. NEW: SAVE ON COMPOSE: Composing Tweets/Replies and posting now saves to your archive automatically without users manually having to execute another save action upon them. NEW: ATTACHMENT OMISSIONS: -Large video files taking up too much space on your system? Go to the extension's config and look for the "Attachment Omissions" section: You can choose whether to omit video, omit all attachments, or omit nothing. -If you change your mind, you can also do (e.g.) ctrl+bookmark to override an attachment omission, and if you have "Backup Everything" enabled, you can choose whether holding ctrl is necessary to override an attachment omission. -Desktop app won't support overriding attachment omissions unless you download the distributable again and reinstall. Don't worry, this won't affect your archive because the app state is saved in a separate directory from the program files.
