Revisit the look of Twitter from 2006 through 2022 while using your current X account. Twitter Eras is an unofficial browser extension that replaces supported pages on x.com and twitter.com with selectable recreations of 17 historical interfaces. Choose any year from 2006 through 2022 using the toolbar popup or the historical Design page. Disable the extension at any time to return to native X. Features include: - Seventeen individually selectable Twitter eras using fixed yearly snapshots. - Historical home, profile, Tweet, search, Direct Message, notification, discovery, follower, media, List, saved-search, and settings views. - Era-appropriate Retweets, including manual RT @author presentation before 2009. - Photo, animated-GIF, and video attachments in every era's home, standalone, and reply composer; 2022 accepts up to four mixed items, while earlier years use the four-photo-or-one-GIF/video contract. - Consistent media and quoted-Tweet presentation across supported Tweet-bearing routes. - Compose, reply, Favorite/Like, Retweet, follow, List subscription, search, and pagination controls connected to their current X equivalents, with direct Bookmark/remove actions on the 2019–2022 Tweet menus. - Native X fallbacks for sign-in, security, account management, List editing, and capabilities that cannot be implemented faithfully in the historical shell. - Era-correct heart/Like terminology from 2015, Quote Tweets terminology from 2020, 140/280-character Tweet limits, 140/10,000-character Direct Message limits, and 2022 mixed-media composition. The extension runs on X and Twitter domains and requests content directly from X using the browser's existing signed-in session. It does not ask for or store your password, operate a developer-owned data server, include analytics, or display advertising. Only the selected era, enabled state, and temporary recommendation-dismissal identifiers are stored. A signed-in X account is required for live account content. Because X can change its web services, some live-data features may occasionally require an extension update.
