Overview
Translates Twitch chat (badly) using a local LibreTranslate instance or DeepL API. Desktop browser only.
Twitch Translated Poorly adds quick chat translation to Twitch, with a small settings panel that sits inside the Twitch page, allowing streaming communities to be more inclusive and multi-lingual. The extension allows chat messages to be translated in real-time, using either the DeepL translation APIs or by using a locally hosted LibreTranslate instance, which is free with unlimited usage. Any language that DeepL or Libretranslate (depending which the user chooses) supports is supported by the extension for translation. The size and colour of both translated messages, and their original untranslated counterparts, are configurable within the extension to improve accessibility. The extension itself is configurable to display in English, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, or French, with more bundled languages on the way in future updates. Chat text goes only to the chosen translation provider. DeepL API keys and settings are stored locally in Chrome storage, and local LibreTranslate is limited to localhost or 127.0.0.1.
