The big streaming apps pile on thousands of titles — but most of them aren't worth your time, and figuring out which ones are means pausing to look up ratings, hunting through reviews, or just gambling on a poster. You end up spending longer choosing than watching. TVBinger fixes that: find what's worth watching in seconds, skip the boring parts once you press play, and watch it together with friends — all right on the page, no new tabs, no extra apps. HOW IT WORKS — SET UP IN 30 SECONDS TVBinger needs one free API key from OMDb (an open movie/TV ratings database) — there's no account or login of your own to create, just this one key. 1️⃣ Click the TVBinger icon in your toolbar — the key box is right at the top. 2️⃣ Tap "Get a free key →" to open OMDb's signup page (under a minute; free keys allow 1,000 lookups/day). 3️⃣ Paste the key OMDb gives you and hit "Save Key." Ratings badges appear immediately as you browse — no reload needed. Your key stays in your own Chrome browser and is sent only to omdbapi.com, never anywhere else. SET YOUR QUALITY BAR 🎚️ Minimum IMDb rating, Rotten Tomatoes %, or Metascore — dim everything below your bar 🗳️ Minimum number of ratings — ignore titles with too few votes to trust 🏆 Awards — keep only titles that won or were nominated for major awards Anything that doesn't qualify fades into the background, right on the page. No clicking, no new tabs — the noise recedes and the winners pop. Share a 6-character room code or a single invite link that drops them straight into the title. No accounts — rooms are throwaway codes that self-destruct half an hour after everyone leaves. 🎙️ Voice & video chat — talk while you watch, up to 6 people, with mute and camera controls. Streams are peer-to-peer and never pass through any server. 🖥️ Pin-to-side split screen — dock the video call to a rail on the edge of your screen and let the movie reflow beside it, so faces never cover the film. PRIVACY No tracking, no analytics, no accounts. The ratings core only ever contacts OMDb (the title you're viewing plus your own key). Watch parties, when you choose to join one, connect to a small relay server that keeps no history and wipes rooms ~30 minutes after they empty; voice/video is peer-to-peer.
