Tunewise is a free extension that gives you a calm YouTube. Remove YouTube Shorts, hide YouTube Playables, hide recommendations and the endless Home feed, turn off autoplay, and cut comments, live chat and other distractions, page by page. Everything is free, there is no paid tier, and everything you leave switched off stays exactly as YouTube made it. Click the Tunewise icon in the toolbar, open a page and switch options on; changes appear on open YouTube tabs right away, without reloading. HOME: Hide the feed completely or send Home to another page (Subscriptions, History, Playlists, Watch later, Liked videos). Hide topic chips, Shorts, YouTube Playables, “Explore more topics”, news and trending shelves, YouTube picks, Mixes and playlists, live and upcoming videos, sponsored tiles, promo banners and surveys. Stop endless scrolling. VIDEO PAGE: Hide the whole right-hand column or only parts of it: related videos (with their topic chips, Mixes and playlists, and endless scrolling), live chat, quizzes, the playlist panel, fundraiser donation shelves and sponsored ads. Hide comments, merch, tickets and offers below the video, and the end-screen videos and cards. Turn off autoplay. SEARCH: Hide Shorts, channel posts, “People also search for”, channels, the big channel card, Mixes and playlists, live and upcoming videos, and sponsored results. Stop endless scrolling. SUBSCRIPTIONS: Hide Shorts, the “Most relevant” shelf, live videos and upcoming videos. Stop endless scrolling. CHANNEL PAGES: Hide the featured video, Shorts, posts, featured channels, the members offer, members-only videos, live and upcoming videos. Shorts, Posts and Live can also disappear from the channel’s tabs. LEFT SIDEBAR AND POP-UPS: Hide any sidebar entry or whole section: the top block, Home, Shorts, Subscriptions, You and each item in it, Explore and each of its topics, More from YouTube, Report history and the footer. Hide YouTube Premium offers on every page. WATCHED VIDEOS: On the Home, Video, Search, Subscriptions and Channel pages, dim or hide videos you have already watched. You decide from how much of a video it counts as watched. PRIVATE BY DESIGN: Tunewise works only on youtube.com. It collects no personal data, sends nothing anywhere and has no accounts or analytics. Your choices are saved in your browser and synced by Chrome between the browsers you are signed in to. Export your settings to a file and import them on another computer, or reset everything to defaults. Switch Tunewise off in Settings to see YouTube as it is.
