Overview

TubeShield by RatioJuris — browser-side ad blocking and configurable video-site blocking.

TubeShield by RatioJuris is a privacy-focused browser extension for browser-side ad blocking and configurable video-site blocking. TubeShield helps reduce unwanted advertising on supported video services while giving users control over websites they want to block. Key features: • Browser-side ad blocking — blocks supported advertising requests using declarative browser rules and hides supported advertising elements on compatible pages. • Configurable blocked-sites list — add domains or URL patterns that you want TubeShield to block. • Optional whole-site blocking — enable or disable the blocked-sites feature independently from ad blocking. • Simple controls — manage TubeShield through the popup and dedicated Options page. • Local statistics — view locally maintained statistics for detected ad blocks and configured site rules. • Restore defaults — quickly return to TubeShield's default configuration. • Reset statistics — clear locally stored blocking statistics at any time. • Privacy-focused design — settings and statistics are stored locally in the browser. TubeShield does not require an account or a remote analytics service for its core functionality. Default configuration: TubeShield includes default entries for YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and Twitch in its blocked-sites configuration. Whole-site blocking is disabled by default, so users can use the ad-blocking functionality without automatically blocking those services. Built for user control: TubeShield does not force a particular browsing configuration. Users decide whether to enable ad blocking, whether to enable the blocked-sites list, and which domains or URL patterns to add. Permissions: TubeShield uses browser permissions required for its functionality, including local storage and declarative network-request rules. Host permissions are limited to supported video services and advertising-related domains used by its blocking rules. TubeShield is built as a Manifest V3 browser extension by RatioJuris.
