Proper dashes, quotes, spaces and everything else — right in any text field

Tschichold is a typographer right in the text fields of any website. It fixes what people usually type “as it comes”: proper quotation marks, em dashes instead of hyphens, non-breaking spaces, an ellipsis instead of three dots, © and ™, fractions, ≠ and ≤ signs and much more. Seven languages: English, Russian, French, Spanish, German, Turkish and Hebrew. The language is detected for every paragraph, so you can mix languages in one field: a quotation gets the quotation marks of the surrounding text. Each language has its own rules — French spaces before ! and ?, Spanish ¿ and ¡, German „quotes“, Turkish %50, Hebrew gershayim — and any of them can be turned off. Works in regular fields and text areas, in Google Sheets cells, in message boxes and other editable blocks. Three ways to run it: • Automatically — text is typeset when you finish editing a field or send a message with Enter. Turn it on with a single click on Tschichold’s portrait in the side panel. • Right-click a field → “Typeset text”. • Keyboard shortcut ⌘⇧' (Ctrl+Shift+' on Windows) — including selected text in Google Docs and fields with formatting. Changed your mind? The “Tschichold fixed it” hint has an “Undo” button that brings back the text exactly as you typed it. More than a hundred rules, grouped by language and section. Every rule comes with an example, and every language has a “before → after” example that updates as you change the settings. For English you can choose American or British style, for German — the kind of quotation marks. History of the last 20 changes: see what was before and after, copy any version, and undo an accidental clear.
