TruthShield is a news credibility companion tool. We do not block news, remove content, or decide what users are allowed to read. TruthShield adds context on supported news pages: weighted community labels, public evidence, finalized voting results, reader mood, and transparent governance records. Main features: - Show article status hints on supported news websites - Display the current top consensus label, such as clickbait headline, hidden facts, out-of-context framing, or factually accurate - Open voting, evidence, and mood panels directly from news pages - Reader Mood is a separate optional category where users can express feelings or context requests with emoji + text - News-link hover shows the top aggregated mood emoji result for quick community context - Mood reactions from multiple articles can be aggregated under the same event - Let readers submit evidence links with short explanations - Weight voting results by user trust score to reduce brigading and manipulation - Support YouTube news content labeling - Provide right-click actions to check article status, add links to event timelines, organize people/org relationships, or report unsupported sites Design principles: - No censorship, only evaluation and context - Negative labels require public evidence - One main vote and evidence entry per user per news article - Mood reactions do not replace credibility voting and are optional - Votes have deadlines and finalized snapshots are preserved - Algorithms, platform rules, and governance records are transparent This extension needs to read news links and article URLs on the current page so it can decide whether to show hints and query the matching status. Sign-in, voting, mood reactions, evidence submission, and account data are handled by the TruthShield website. The extension itself does not store your login password.
