Overview

Make a QR code for any page, and check where a link or QR code really goes before you open it. Safety checks run on your machine.

TrustScan checks the page you are on the moment you open it — and any link you right-click — against a set of rules that catch the tricks used to make a bad address look like a good one: lookalike characters, a real brand's name in the wrong part of the address, a shortener hiding the destination, a raw IP address, a login page that isn't on the domain it claims. The verdict is the first thing you see, in plain colour: safe, caution, or dangerous — with the reasons written out, not a score. Follow a shortened link A bit.ly address tells you nothing on its own. Press "Where does this go?" and TrustScan resolves it and runs every check on where it actually lands. And it makes QR codes. One click gives you the code for the page you are on. Choose the module shape and corner style, pick a colour, set the error-correction level, then save it as a transparent PNG, a vector SVG that stays sharp at any print size, or a JPG for anywhere that will not take transparency. Right-click any link, page or selected text to get a code for it. It cannot spy on you, by construction. TrustScan asks for no access to any website at install. It has no server. The safety checks are rules applied to the address itself, on your own machine — not a lookup against someone's blocklist — which is why they work with no connection at all. Two features need more, and both ask first: the toolbar badge needs to read tab addresses, and following a link needs to contact that link's host. Both are off until you turn them on, and switching them off hands the access straight back. Free, no account, no advertising, nothing to upgrade. The same checks are in the TrustScan mobile app — trustscanqr.com
