The price on a Japanese listing is not the price you pay. Between the listing and your door there are around ten separate charges: the seller's domestic shipping, the proxy service's per-item fee, a deposit or payment fee, packing, international freight, currency conversion, import duty, import VAT or GST, and the disbursement fee your courier bills you after delivery. Most of them are not visible when you click buy. True Yen adds them up on the listing page itself. WHAT IT DOES - Shows the estimated landed cost while you are looking at the item, on Japanese marketplace and proxy shipping listing pages. - Compares six proxy services on the order in front of you and tells you which one lands it cheapest. The winner changes with item count, weight and how you pay — a static comparison article cannot tell you that. - Shows who converts your currency. Some services bill in yen, so your own payment provider does the conversion and you can change that spread by paying differently. Others bill in your currency at a rate they set themselves. It is one or the other, never both. - Reads the shipping terms stated on the listing, so a domestic shipping charge the seller has already covered is not counted against you twice. - Names the carrier disbursement fee as its own line, because it is a real charge that arrives after delivery on a separate invoice. WHY IT EXISTS NOW The United States ended duty-free de minimis treatment for shipments from all countries on 29 August 2025, and it has only hardened since. The European Union removed its €150 relief on 1 July 2026. If your import math still assumes a duty-free allowance, it is out of date. PRIVACY This extension makes no network requests. It reads the price already rendered on the page you are looking at and does the arithmetic locally. Your settings are stored in your own browser.
