English short description Select an area, extract text from images, translate and copy. On-device OCR with optional online translation. English description Transnap extracts Turkish and English text from selected regions of web pages. Copy the text or translate it to a supported target language. OCR runs on your device. Translation first uses Chrome's on-device language models, when available. Optional online fallback is disabled by default and requires consent in Settings: extracted text and language information may be sent to MyMemory or Lingva servers. Screenshots are never sent to these translation services. Read-aloud uses Chrome voices and may use a remote voice provider. The optional last-20 translation history stays on this device and can be deleted. Pin Transnap, open Language settings and prepare your language pair. Then open a normal web page, choose the translation action and draw a region. Suggested shortcuts: Ctrl+Shift+Y to translate, Ctrl+Shift+U to copy (Command on macOS). Assign or change them using the shortcuts button if Chrome has not assigned them. Requires desktop Chrome 138+. Local translation availability depends on the device, browser and language pair. OCR is bundled for English and Turkish only. Chrome internal pages, the Web Store and the built-in PDF viewer are not supported. Online services have quotas and availability limits. No account or API key is required. Privacy tab Single purpose: Extract text from a user-selected region of a web page and translate, copy or read that text. Permission justifications: - activeTab: Access and capture the current visible tab only after a user invokes the extension. - scripting: Inject the region-selection and result interface into the invoked tab. - storage: Store preferences, explicit online consent and optional local translation history. - offscreen: Run bundled OCR workers and clipboard operations in the extension's offscreen document. - clipboardWrite: Copy text at the user's request. Clipboard contents are not read. - tts: Read source/translated text when requested; Chrome may use a remote voice if a local voice is unavailable. - api.mymemory.translated.net, translate.plausibility.cloud, lingva.ml: Optional HTTPS translation fallback, used only after explicit opt-in and local translation failure. - Remote code: No remote JavaScript or WASM is loaded. OCR runtime and language data are bundled. Translation endpoints return data, not executable code. Chrome manages its own built-in model download. Data disclosure: Website content is handled (selected page image, extracted and translated text). Do not claim "no user data handled". No analytics, advertising, accounts, browsing-history collection or developer-operated backend. The online providers can receive IP/technical request information. Review the dashboard's current definitions against privacy.html, including possible sensitive information in text the user selects. Only certify the limited-use statements after reading them. Privacy policy URL: PENDING — publish store/site/privacy.html and enter its public HTTPS URL. Publisher name and support email: PENDING — user must provide. Reviewer instructions No login required. Open a normal HTTPS page with clear English or Turkish text. Invoke the popup and use Copy text only; select an area to verify bundled OCR without external translation. For local translation, open Settings > on-device translation setup, prepare English → Turkish and wait for download. If the device does not offer the model, explicitly enable online fallback and Save; this sends extracted text to the disclosed services. Online availability is not guaranteed. Check History, delete a record and change preferences. Chrome reserved pages cannot be captured. Suggested command registration must be verified in Chrome's shortcuts manager; displayed unassigned state is intentional when no binding exists.
