Overview

Live translator for Google Meet, Zoom, Teams and YouTube. Real-time captions and spoken translation in 70+ languages.

Translext is a live translator for anything you can hear in Chrome. It listens to the audio playing in a browser tab and turns it into real-time captions in your language — and can speak the translation aloud while a call, lecture or live stream is still running. There are no meeting bots to invite and nothing to upload. WHAT YOU GET • Real-time audio → audio — hear a live, spoken translation in your language, with very little delay. • Real-time audio → text — read live captions of the original speech and its translation, side by side. • 70+ languages — translate into and from the language you prefer, including right-to-left scripts. • Works in the tab you're already in — any video call, webinar, course or live stream playing in the browser. • A clean floating overlay — draggable, unobtrusive, always readable. • Your settings, synced — sign in to carry your preferences across devices. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pin Translext and open the tab you want to translate. 2. Click the icon and choose your language. 3. Press start — spoken translation and live captions appear in real time. GOOD TO KNOW Translext captures the audio of a browser tab, so whatever you want translated has to be playing in Chrome. If you use Zoom or Microsoft Teams, join the meeting through their web version rather than the desktop app. Live speech translation is not perfect either: clear speech on a decent microphone works well, while heavy background noise, several people talking at once, and specialised jargon or proper nouns are harder. PRIVACY Audio is processed only to produce your live translation while a session is running, and stops the moment you stop. No bots, no meeting invites.
