Transcript Forge turns available YouTube captions into reusable transcript files and a portable prompt you can take to your chosen AI assistant. FREE: VIDEO TO PROMPT Open a supported YouTube video, fetch its available transcript, and add what you want to accomplish. Build and review a prompt containing the caption text, source details, timestamps, and your goal. Copy it into an AI assistant of your choice to ask for a relevant checklist and numbered companion steps. The prompt is composed locally. Transcript Forge does not generate AI answers inside the extension or automatically send your transcript to an AI service. Your chosen assistant produces the response after you paste the prompt. Its availability, limits, and terms apply separately. PRO TOOLS • Export Obsidian-ready Markdown notes with source information and YouTube timestamp links. • Group caption lines into paragraphs; results depend on the original captions. • Process multiple YouTube URLs into Markdown notes. Pro requires a separately purchased, validated license. Free video-to-prompt and free transcript exports do not require Pro. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS Transcript Forge works only when supported captions or transcripts are available. Captions can contain errors and omit actions shown only on screen. The extension does not watch the video, verify facts or specifications, or guarantee that another AI's advice is correct. Verify important information independently, especially before safety-critical work. Transcript and prompt composition happen locally in your browser. Pro activation sends license-validation information to the licensing service. No transcript is automatically sent to an AI provider. Fetched captions, goals, and built prompts are retained only for the browser session, not as permanent storage. Manual transcript edits are not retained when reopening the popup. HTML and print views use the original caption rows. Use transcripts only where you have the rights or permission to do so.
