Trailing Slash SEO Checker
3 ratings
)Overview
Checks trailing slash consistency, redirect types, canonical tags and detects SEO issues.
This tool was developed because trailing slash issues are often overlooked, and many SEO tools fail to check for them. These checks usually require manual verification, which is rarely performed consistently. With a single click, this extension checks whether your URLs are correctly configured or if there’s a risk of duplicate content. It verifies trailing slash consistency, status codes, and canonical tags to ensure your website is optimized and free from duplicate content issues. v1.0.7: - Bug fix: Extension no longer hangs when the alternate URL returns a 301 redirect. What's new in v1.0.6: - Both URL variants are now analyzed simultaneously, including canonical, robots, and SEO score (0–100) - Detects redirect loops, canonical loops, canonicals pointing to unrelated URLs, soft 404s, duplicate content, and missing canonicals - Flags conflicting noindex + canonical combinations (Google advises against this) - Reads x-robots-tag HTTP header in addition to meta robots - Shows where the alternate URL landed and displays "— redirects" for canonical/robots when a redirect is detected - Each scenario includes a color-coded verdict (green/orange/red) and a clear action point - Canonical displays the tail of the URL so the trailing slash is always visible; hover for full URL - Copy button for both URLs - No scrollbar — popup height adjusts to content - Fixed: popup no longer closes mid-check when navigating back to the original URL
