AI Policy Governance for Schools, Embedded in Google Classroom

Traffic Lite™ brings clear, transparent AI-Usage policies directly into Google Classroom. Traffic Lite is a customizable AI-Usage scale that helps teachers clearly communicate how students should—or should not—use AI on each assignment. Once installed, the Traffic Lite widget automatically appears when teachers create posts in Google Classroom. Simply select a color to instantly add the appropriate AI-Usage guidance to the assignment instructions. Customizable AI-Usage Policies: Teachers can customize their policy by clicking the Traffic Lite extension icon and navigating to “Policy Details.” Choose from a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-color scale, each with research-informed default language designed for classroom use. All policy language is fully editable to meet the needs of individual classrooms, schools, and districts. Traffic Lite GPS: Teachers also have access to Traffic Lite GPS (Guided Pedagogical Support), which reviews an assignment draft alongside the teacher’s AI-Usage policy and recommends an appropriate Traffic Lite color based on the assignment’s inferred learning goal. Traffic Lite GPS Premium goes even further by suggesting AI-Forward instructional strategies that can strengthen assignments while preserving their intended learning goals.
