Known bugs: - In backtesting mode exit reason says "Stop Loss" even when stop is hit AFTER TP1. Likely logs the last exit button. DOES NOT DISRUPT THE RESULTS, it is all good. Privacy Policy for TradingView Backtest Logger Last Updated: May 3, 2025 Data Collection and Storage: The TradingView Backtest Logger extension collects and stores ONLY the trading data that you manually input during your backtesting sessions. This includes trade entry/exit prices, stop loss levels, take profit targets, and timestamps. Local Storage: All data collected by this extension is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage.local API. Your trading data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any external servers or third parties. Data Sharing: We do not share your data with anyone. The extension does not have the capability to transmit your data outside your browser. The only way data leaves your device is when you explicitly export it using the built-in export functions. Donations: The extension includes an optional donation feature that allows you to support development by sending cryptocurrency (ETH on Arbitrum network). When using this feature, no personal data is collected or transmitted. The donation process simply provides you with a static wallet address that you can use with your own cryptocurrency wallet. We do not track, store, or associate donation information with your trading data or personally identifiable information. The donation feature operates entirely independent of the extension's core functionality and trading data storage systems. Data Access and Control: You maintain complete control over your data. You can view all stored trades in the extension popup, edit individual trades, or clear all data at any time using the "Clear All Trades" button. Permissions: The extension only requires the minimum permissions necessary to function. The extension requires the following permissions, as specified in the manifest.json file: 1. activeTab: This permission allows the extension to interact with the currently active TradingView tab. It's necessary for the extension to inject the logging panel into the TradingView interface and capture price data. 2. storage: This permission enables the extension to save your trade data locally in your browser. Without this permission, your trade history would be lost whenever you close the browser. 3. clipboardWrite: This is required for the "Copy to Sheets" functionality, which allows you to copy your trade data to the clipboard for pasting into spreadsheet applications. 4. host_permissions (for https://.tradingview.com/): This restriction ensures that the extension's content scripts only run on TradingView websites. The extension cannot access or modify any other websites you visit. Updates to Privacy Policy: Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected in an updated version included with extension updates.
