Overview

Inspect typography, visual effects and motion. Turn any interface into a reusable design recipe.

TRACE is a visual system reader made for web designers, graphic designers and creative developers. Point at any element to see its typography, color, effects, dimensions and motion in a floating visual preview. Click to capture the element, inspect its full visual DNA and copy a clean reconstruction recipe. Select an image, GIF, video, audio, canvas, SVG, embed or CSS background to read its available visual metadata and dominant colors. WHAT TRACE READS • Typeface family, source, weight, size, leading and tracking • OpenType and variable-font settings • Colors, gradients, borders, radius and shadows • Filters, backdrop blur, blend modes, masks and clipping • CSS transitions, timing curves, animation names and keyframes • Element dimensions, display and positioning • Images, GIFs, video, audio, canvas, SVG, embeds and CSS backgrounds • Media descriptions, sources, formats, intrinsic/rendered dimensions and playback metadata • Locally sampled dominant-color palettes when the media host permits pixel access • One-click copy for every individual value, palette color and generated recipe BUILT FOR TRUST TRACE activates only after an explicit click or keyboard shortcut. Live inspection and readable media-pixel analysis run locally in your browser. Google Sign-In is optional and TRACE explains the sync before opening consent. If you sign in and explicitly save a reference, TRACE sends only your verified Google account identifier and email, monthly Full Read usage, subscription status and that compact design recipe to its first-party service at tracereader.app. Saved recipes can contain a sanitized page title and URL plus the selected visual properties. TRACE does not upload full pages, automatic browsing history, media bytes or font files. Signed-out references remain in Chrome storage and your Chrome profile. TRACE has no ads and does not sell user data. Always verify a typeface’s license before reuse. See it. Understand it. Rebuild it.
