torwache — Website Blocker

A dead-simple website blocker for Chrome. Block distracting sites locally—no account, cloud sync, analytics, or telemetry.

Some sites should simply not open. torwache blocks distracting websites so you can focus. Add a domain to your blocklist and Chrome stops it from opening. Turn an entry off when you need it again. WHAT YOU GET • A local domain blocklist with optional subdomain matching • A separate on/off switch for every entry • A local blocked page with no tempting “just five minutes” button • Light, dark, and system themes SMALL ON PURPOSE No account. No cloud sync. No analytics or telemetry. No subscription. No remote code, remote assets, or background network requests. Your blocklist stays in Chrome's local extension storage. To catch navigations served from a site's cache, torwache checks the URL locally, immediately reduces it to its hostname, and shows a local blocked page when it matches. It never stores your browsing history or sends visited sites anywhere. torwache requests no host permissions and runs no content scripts, so it cannot read or change the contents of web pages. ONE HONEST LIMITATION A tab that is already open keeps working until it reloads or navigates. Closing it instantly would require broader tab access, and we would rather not ask for that.
