Overview
Save any page. Topiary files it into your tag tree automatically.
Everyone has the same pile: hundreds of links saved because they mattered at the time, and no easy way back to them. Folders would help if anyone actually filed everything, and most people do not. Topiary files for you. Click the toolbar button and the page you are reading lands in a real category, inside a real hierarchy, in about a second. WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES Open the popup and it shows the page you are on, ready to save. One click files it, and the popup tells you which category it went to, so you can see where a page landed instead of trusting that something happened. Open it again on a page you have saved before and it says so straight away, along with the category the page was filed under. Removing it takes two clicks in the same place. You can also right-click anywhere on a page, or on a link, and choose Save to Topiary without opening the popup at all. YOUR TREE GROWS WITH YOUR LIBRARY Topiary starts with a ready-made tree of nine top-level categories, each with useful subcategories underneath. As your library grows, Topiary can add new branches where they are needed, so the structure follows what you actually save rather than what someone guessed you might save. WHEN TOPIARY IS NOT SURE, IT SAYS SO Some pages do not provide enough useful information to file confidently. When that happens the bookmark goes to your Inbox with a suggested category instead of pretending to be certain, and one click files it. If something lands in the wrong place, you can move it. EVERYTHING YOU SAVE, IN ONE LIBRARY What you save from the browser is waiting in the Topiary web app at usetopiary.app, where you can browse the whole tree or search it. You can also import an HTML or CSV export from your browser or another app and let Topiary file the lot, which means the bookmarks you already have arrive sorted rather than as another pile. FIND IT AGAIN Search your library by any word in a title or description. On Pro, Topiary also searches inside the text of the pages themselves, so a phrase you half-remember from an article finds the article, and it shows you the line it found. WHAT YOU GET FREE The free plan includes 150 bookmarks and 20 automatic filings each month, plus a one-off allowance of 100 filings so your first import can arrive already sorted. The core idea is included, because Topiary still files your bookmarks and still grows your tree. TOPIARY PRO Pro gives you unlimited bookmarks and unlimited automatic filing, and your tree becomes yours to shape, so a category can be renamed, a branch moved somewhere better, and two that overlap merged into one. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT The extension reads the address and title of the page you are on, and only at the moment you press Save or use the right-click menu. It does not run on pages you have not asked it to save, and it does not watch your browsing. Topiary has no ads and no analytics, and nobody else can see what you save. You can delete your account at any time, and your library is deleted with it. Save anything. Topiary shapes it.
