The PDF comes out of Chrome's own print engine, so the text stays selectable and sharp at any zoom, and every link in the page is still clickable in the file. THE WHOLE INTERFACE - Capture: Page as-is, the page exactly as it looks in your browser, with the text still selectable and every link still clickable. Or Reader, just the article, with the nav, the cookie banner and the "related stories" stripped out. Or Image, the page photographed pixel for pixel at 1x or 2x. - Layout: Pages, normal pagination. Or One Long Page, so a table or a screenshot never lands on a page break. - Expand Whole Page First, on by default. WHY IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE THE PAGE Most page-to-PDF tools hand you the site's PRINT stylesheet: navigation gone, columns collapsed, colour dropped. Then they lay it out on 8.5in paper, which is 816 pixels, so every responsive site renders its phone layout. This one renders the screen stylesheet and cuts the paper to the page's real width, so what you save is the page you were looking at. Then Save, straight to your downloads folder, or Save As to pick the name and the folder yourself. EXPAND WHOLE PAGE FIRST On by default, and the reason long pages come out complete. It opens collapsed sections, then walks the page slowly enough that a feed's next batch actually arrives before the capture starts, waits at the bottom to see whether more is coming, and puts you back where you were. STAMPED, NOT ASKED Every page carries the source URL, the capture date in UTC, the page number and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the page. It is not a setting, because a record with the provenance switched off is not a record. A HISTORY OF EVERYTHING YOU SAVED Every capture is listed, searchable, with Open and Show in Folder. GOOD TO KNOW Chrome shows a "Web2PDF started debugging this browser" bar while the page renders. That is Chrome's notice for the print engine this uses; it disappears the moment the PDF is finished. Chrome's own pages, like the settings screen and the Web Store, cannot be captured, and the popup says so up front. PRIVACY The PDF is produced on your machine and saved to your downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded, there is no server, no account and no analytics. It makes no network requests at all.
