Tomlock is a Pomodoro timer with a site blocker built in. Start a session and Tomlock blocks the sites on your own list until the timer ends. Finish sessions to earn XP, gems, streaks and badges. Everything in the core works without an account and without a network connection. The extension interface is currently in English. HOW IT WORKS 1. Type what you want to get done (optional). 2. Pick a preset (25/5, 50/10, 15/5 or your own) and press Start focus. 3. While the timer runs, any site on your blocklist shows Tommy, the Tomlock mascot, instead of the page. 4. When the session ends, the block lifts and your break starts. TWO LOCK LEVELS TODAY, A THIRD LATER - Gentle: wait 10 seconds, type a reason, and the site opens for 5 minutes. The unlock is logged on your device and costs that session its streak bonus. - Firm: no bypass. The only way through is to end the session, and an ended session earns no XP. - Strict Lock: no stop until the timer is up. Planned for a later Pro update, not in this version, no date promised. BLOCKING THAT FITS REAL WORK - Unlimited blocklist and allow list on the free plan. - Wildcards and path rules, for example block youtube.com/shorts/* and keep the rest of YouTube. - The allow list wins over the blocklist, so music.youtube.com can stay open while youtube.com is blocked. - A plain domain such as youtube.com also covers its subdomains. - Tabs that are already open on a blocked site are switched to the Tomlock page when a session starts. In-page navigation and embedded frames are caught too. - Works in incognito windows if you allow Tomlock there in Chrome's extension settings. Tomlock tells you if it is not allowed. A TIMER YOU CAN TRUST - Presets plus a custom length (focus 10 to 120 minutes, break 1 to 30), a long break after every 4 focus blocks, and a count-up stopwatch mode. - The timer runs from a stored end time, so it stays accurate when the popup is closed. - If Chrome closes in the middle of a session, Tomlock shows what happened and lets you resume. - End-of-phase chime and notification, with volume, mute and quiet hours. - Sessions shorter than 10 minutes earn no XP. AI THAT RUNS ON YOUR DEVICE FIRST - Planner: turn your goal and a task list into a queue of sessions. - Smart unblock: when you land on a blocked page, Tomlock can check it against your goal and tell you why it did or did not let you in. The reason you type for a Gentle unlock is never sent to AI. - Uses Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano), which needs a recent desktop Chrome on a capable computer. If it is not available, the planner offers templates and Smart unblock is hidden. Nothing breaks. - Pro adds an optional cloud fallback, off by default. It is used only when on-device AI is unavailable. It sends your goal and task list (planner) or the page address without its query, the page title and your goal (Smart unblock) to Tomlock's server and an AI provider, never page content or your browsing history. Each AI answer is labelled on-device or cloud. - You can switch AI off completely in Settings. A GAME LAYER YOU CAN TURN OFF - XP, levels in 6 tiers, gems, a daily streak, 3 daily quests and 12 badges. - Rare drops are shown honestly: a 5% chance on sessions of 15 minutes or more, at most one a day. - Calm mode hides XP, gems and celebrations. It keeps counting quietly in case you switch it back on. - No fake countdowns or scarcity tricks. The 10-second wait in Gentle is a real pause, not pressure. - Notifications are limited (a streak reminder is opt-in and off by default) and respect quiet hours. - Nothing you can buy with gems gives you more XP. The gem shop is planned for a later update. PRIVACY FIRST - No account needed. Signed out, nothing leaves your device. - Tomlock never reads page content and never uploads your browsing history. No ads. No third-party trackers. - If you sign in, your session summaries (times, minutes, lock level, status, your time zone and any label you typed) are sent to Tomlock's servers so XP and gems are confirmed. No sites. Pro also syncs your settings and blocklists, which include the sites you chose to block. - Smart unblock and the planner run on your device by default. Only if you have Pro, turn on the cloud fallback and on-device AI is unavailable, Tomlock sends your goal and task list (planner) or the page address without its query, the page title and your goal (Smart unblock) to Tomlock's server and an AI provider. - Settings > Privacy lists what is stored where, what can leave your device, and every permission with its reason. Export your data (JSON, local data only) and delete local data from there. FREE AND PRO Free: the full Pomodoro Chrome extension timer and unlimited site blocking, Gentle and Firm locks, on-device AI, and the whole game layer. Pro is an optional paid plan, bought on tomlock.app (not in Chrome). It adds sync across browsers, cloud AI fallback (60 calls a month), longer stats history and CSV export. Nothing in Free stops working without it. Planned for a later Pro update, not in this version, no date promised: Strict Lock, schedules and profiles. PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN WORDS - Block sites on your list during focus (declarativeNetRequest). Tomlock does not read the pages. - See the address of open tabs (tabs), so a blocked site that is already open is caught when focus starts. - Optional access to sites you choose, asked only for those sites and never at install. - Timers (alarms), notifications with Start break and Start focus buttons, a synthesized chime, the side panel, a two-item right-click menu and local storage for the rest.
