This is very close to what I want. The one main feature I would love to have which no similar extension does is this: show *both* hours and minutes in the icon instead of rounding to the hour. So if an event is one hour and 14 minutes away, the icon could say or "1:14" instead of "1h".

Worked immediately. Shows me my schedule for today, time until my next meeting and clicking on it gives me my calendar. Brilliantly simple.
