Overview

Cut any article to a 3-sentence TL;DR in 2-4 seconds, on-device in a side panel. No cloud, no API key, nothing leaves your browser.

TLDR Nano summarizes the page you are reading using your browser's built-in Summarizer API (Chrome 127+). The model runs entirely on your device. The page text never leaves the browser. Zero network. Zero accounts. Zero API keys. That is the wedge. Every cloud-AI summarizer charges per token, makes you log in, and ships your reading history to a backend you cannot audit. TLDR Nano ships none of that. The model runs in your browser's on-device runtime - no API key, no account, no telemetry, no server-side anything. WHAT YOU GET IN ONE CLICK - Open the side panel, click Summarize page, and a three-sentence TL;DR appears in 2-4 seconds. - Highlight text first and click Summarize selection to focus the summary on that passage alone. - Long pages are chunked into ~3000-character blocks and re-summarized into a single summary-of-summaries so the whole-document arc holds. If a page is too long, you see an honest notice ("summarized the first N chunks") - nothing is silently dropped. WHERE THE MODEL LIVES The Chrome Summarizer API runs the Nano model on your device. If the model is not yet downloaded, the side panel tells you and offers to start the download in the background. If your build of Chrome does not ship the on-device model, the side panel says so - there is no cloud fallback, ever. That is the whole point of this tool. FREE VS PRO Free, forever: - TL;DR summary type at medium length - Chunked long-form with summary-of-summaries - Up to 10 recent summaries, 7-day rolling trim - Copy to clipboard export Pro, $99 one time (lifetime - not a subscription): - Key-points, teaser, and outline summary types - Short and long lengths in addition to medium - Unlimited recent-summaries history - Markdown and .txt export - Per-domain summary-style memory One payment of $99, never again. 14-day refund, no questions. THE HONEST TRADE-OFF The on-device Nano model has a smaller context window than cloud LLMs, so long-form is its hardest task. TLDR Nano mitigates this with chunked summary-of-summaries per Chrome scale-summarization guidance - the partial summaries are concatenated and re-summarized into one coherent TL;DR that holds the arc of the whole document. PRIVACY Does not handle user data. Page text is processed in the side panel's on-device model session and discarded. Defaults and recent-summaries history live in chrome.storage.local on your machine, with a 7-day rolling trim. The only network call in the entire extension is license verification, gated on Pro license entry - it never fires for free users.
