TLDR In – LinkedIn Job Insights for Software Developers
Overview
Spend less time reading job descriptions. Find the right developer roles faster.
TLDR-In is a free Chrome extension that helps software developers spend less time trawling through jobs on LinkedIn and more time looking at roles that are actually a good fit. It’s fully compatible with LinkedIn’s latest job search experience. I built it out of frustration with how inconsistent job descriptions are. Finding out whether a role is remote, requires three days in the office, needs security clearance, or even uses the tech you care about often means digging through walls of text. TLDR-In surfaces that information directly in LinkedIn, so you can assess jobs at a glance. Features 📍 Company tagging — Flag jobs from companies you’re not interested in, such as AI tagging/labelling companies. 📍 Tech stack at a glance — See technologies like .NET, React, Vue and Azure directly beneath LinkedIn job cards. 📍 Key details surfaced automatically — Important information such as office attendance expectations, security clearance and other requirements appears in a concise summary above the job description. 📍 Red & green flags — Key skills, requirements and metadata are highlighted as positive or negative signals, making it much quicker to discount unsuitable roles. The goal is simple: less time deciphering job descriptions, more time focusing on jobs worth applying for. If the extension gains traction, I’m planning to add: 1. 🚩 Red-flag functionality for roles that don’t use Easy Apply 2. 🌐 Support for additional job boards such as Glassdoor and others
