Timezone Tooltip- Highlight Text to convert timestamps (FREE)
Overview
Highlight time text to convert across timezones. Supports abbreviations, offsets, and today/tomorrow/yesterday. Free & local.
Timezone Tooltip is your “wait…what time is that for me?” superpower. 🕒✨ Just highlight time text anywhere on the web and instantly see it converted into your chosen time zones—no new tabs, no mental math, no calendar gymnastics. Q: What can it convert? A: The stuff you actually see in the wild: “3pm PT”, “14:30 UTC”, “10:00 +0530”, “7:15pm”, and even sneaky relative words like “today / tomorrow / yesterday”. Q: What if a site shows times with NO timezone at all? A: That’s where the magic settings come in. You can set a default timezone per site so the extension knows what the page “really means”. ★ URL Rules (aka “make every site behave”) ➜ Pick a domain and say: “On this site, treat times as [my selected timezone].” ➜ Or toggle Strict URL mode and say: “Only on THIS exact page URL, treat times as [timezone]. Everywhere else? fall back to my normal default (local timezone).” Perfect for dashboards, docs, ticketing tools, and internal pages that assume a timezone but never bother to tell you. Q: Can I make the tooltip feel more human? A: Yep. Rename timezones to whatever makes sense in your brain. Call them “SF 🏄”, “NYC 🍕”, “London ☕”, “India 🇮🇳”… and the tooltip will show your custom names. Q: Can I customize what shows up? A: Absolutely. Choose your target timezones, reorder them, and keep the list lightweight so it’s fast and snappy. Privacy (the good kind) 🔒 Everything runs locally on your device. No trackers. No analytics.
