TimeInColumn for Jira
Overview
See how long every Jira issue spends in each status. Your data never leaves your browser.
Jira records every status change but never tells you how long anything spent in each one. TimeInColumn works it out, on the board you already use. WHAT YOU GET * A badge on every card and issue showing time in its current status, turning amber and then red as it ages. * A breakdown per issue: every status it passed through, how long each visit took, and how many times it came back. * A report across a whole project: one row per issue, one column per status, with cycle time, lead time, and average, median and 85th percentile. Sort it, group it by assignee, export it to CSV. * Working hours instead of wall clock. An issue left over a weekend reads as two hours of working time rather than sixty-five hours of calendar time. Sunday-to-Thursday weeks, your own holidays, your timezone, DST handled. WHY NOT JUST JIRA "Days in column" shows dots on a card, cannot be made to show a number, and an admin has to switch it on. The Control Chart draws cycle time as a chart, so you cannot read one issue off it or break it down by status. The Cumulative Flow Diagram counts issues per status over time rather than time per issue. WHY NOT A MARKETPLACE APP Those install onto the Jira site, so an administrator has to approve it, and they are licensed for every user on the site rather than for you. TimeInColumn installs into your browser. No admin, no ticket, no meeting. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU The extension talks to exactly one server: your own Jira site, using the session you are already signed in with. No account, no analytics, no third-party code, no backend of ours to send anything to. Everything is free and unlocked. If paid features arrive later, anyone who installed before that keeps what they have. Not affiliated with Atlassian. Jira is a trademark of Atlassian.
