TimeFence – Website Blocker & Daily Time Limits
Overview
Block distracting websites or set a daily time limit per site. Focus schedules and Strict Mode. No account, no tracking, no data.
TimeFence is a simple website blocker for Chrome with daily time limits. Block the sites that eat your day, or give them a time budget, like 30 minutes of YouTube a day. No account, no subscription, and your browsing never leaves your computer. HOW IT WORKS - Block a website in one click from the toolbar, or add sites in Settings - Set a daily time limit for a site. When the minutes run out, the site is blocked until midnight - Time only counts while you are actively using the tab, not when it sits in the background - Subdomains are included: blocking youtube.com also blocks m.youtube.com - Tabs that are already open get blocked straight away - A calm block page tells you why the site is blocked and when it opens again - Need a break? Pause blocking for 15 minutes FREE, FOREVER - Block up to 5 websites - 1 daily time limit - "Block this site" button and 15-minute pause TIMEFENCE PRO, ONE-TIME PAYMENT (NO SUBSCRIPTION) - Unlimited blocked sites and unlimited daily time limits - Focus schedules: block sites only during work or study hours, on the days you pick. Overnight windows work too, e.g. 22:00 to 06:00 - Strict Mode: while a block is active you cannot remove sites, pause, or switch off the schedule GOOD FOR - Cutting down on social media: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit - Limiting YouTube, Netflix, news or shopping sites to a fixed time each day - Staying focused while you work, study or write - Building better screen time habits without an app that watches you PRIVATE BY DESIGN TimeFence has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Your site list and your minutes are stored only in your browser. Blocking uses Chrome's built-in blocking engine (declarativeNetRequest), so it is fast and light on memory and battery. WHY THESE PERMISSIONS - TimeFence does not ask for access to all your websites. When you add a site, Chrome asks you once to allow TimeFence on that site only, so it can show the block page there and count time on it. TimeFence never reads what is on the page. - Block content on any page: Chrome's built-in blocking engine, used only for the sites on your list. - Storage: keeps your settings on your device. - Alarms and Idle: count time once a minute, and only while you are at the computer.
