Overview

Visualize flat Salesforce debug logs as an interactive tree structure.

Salesforce debug logs are long flat text files. TimberView turns them into an interactive tree so you can see what ran, in what order, and where the time went. Open a debug log in Salesforce, click "View in TimberView", and get: • A nested execution tree: triggers, code units, methods, constructors, SOQL, DML, callouts, debug statements and exceptions, each timed. • Slow-spot markers: nodes that spend a large share of the total time themselves are tagged "slow" or "warm", based on self time, so a method that only wraps a slow call is not blamed for it. • A summary bar: total time, SOQL queries, DML operations, exceptions and maximum depth. • A detail pane: select any event to read its full text (including multi-line System.debug output and stack traces), line number, offset, total and self time, with one-click copy. • Search that looks inside events, not just labels. It shows only the matches and the path to them, counts them, and steps through them with Enter / Shift+Enter or the arrow buttons. • Type filters with a count on each: hide Methods, System calls or anything else, and what is nested inside stays visible. Noisy variable and heap events start hidden on big logs, with a bar that tells you what is hidden and a one-click Show all. • Exception jumping: step through every exception with one key (E). • Open any saved .log file: drop it anywhere on the page. • A clear warning when Salesforce cut the log at its size limit (it keeps the start and end and skips the middle), a marker row where events are missing, and a one-click jump to it, so you never mistake a partial log for a complete one. • Export the parsed tree as JSON. • Light and dark themes that follow your system. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs locally in your browser. TimberView has no server, no analytics and no tracking, and it never sends your logs anywhere. The only network request it makes is fetching a log from your own Salesforce org, using your existing session. BUILT FOR REAL LOGS Large logs are supported, up to Salesforce's own 20 MB log limit. Long lists are split into ranges of 500 events, very long lines are shortened (the detail pane keeps the full text), Expand All stops at a row budget so the page stays responsive, and search and filters help you narrow a huge log down. Works on Salesforce Lightning and Classic log pages (my.salesforce.com, lightning.force.com, salesforce-setup.com, vf.force.com and visualforce.com). TimberView is an independent tool by SpareTimeProduct. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Salesforce. Salesforce and Apex are trademarks of Salesforce, Inc.
