)Overview
Automatic tab groups, window stash, and command search for Chrome tabs.
TidyTab is a local-first Chrome tab manager for people who live in tabs. Create simple rules once, then let TidyTab group matching tabs, stash busy windows, and bring your browser context back when you need it. Core features: - Automatic tab grouping: group matching tabs by domain, URL text, title text, or pattern. - Window stash: save an entire working window, close its tabs, and restore the context later. - Command palette: search open tabs and run common actions with Cmd/Ctrl+K. - Rule templates and JSON import/export: start quickly and keep a portable backup of your rules. - Local-first design: rules, settings, stashed windows, and snapshots stay in your browser by default. - Optional account features: sign in only if you want cloud rule sync for grouping rules. Stashed windows are not uploaded by rule sync. TidyTab uses Chrome native tab groups, so your workspace stays familiar. It is useful for research, software development, shopping comparison, admin dashboards, recurring SaaS tools, and project switching. Privacy notes: TidyTab needs tab-related permissions to read current tab titles, URLs, window state, and tab groups so it can group, stash, restore, and search your tabs. Local organization features do not require an account. Cloud rule sync only syncs the rules you choose to sync, not your full browsing history or local stash history.
