Overview

Save articles offline, no account needed. Read later with tags, search, reader mode — 100% private, all data stays local.

TidyShelf is a private read-later extension and local bookmark manager that respects your time and privacy. Save any article, blog post, or web page with one click and read later in a clean, distraction-free reader mode. Content is captured and stored locally in your browser for offline reading, even if the original page is no longer available. If you are looking for a secure, private read-it-later app that works without an internet connection, TidyShelf is the perfect choice. Install, save, read. That's the whole thing. HOW IT WORKS - Click the TidyShelf icon or press Alt+S (Windows) / Ctrl+S (Mac) to save an article or web page. - Close the tab. The article isn't going anywhere. - Open TidyShelf to view your reading list and offline bookmarks. - Click any item to open it in Reader Mode and read it whenever you like, online or offline. - Use tags and instant search to quickly find anything in your library. - Export your entire library as a JSON file whenever you need. SAVE & READ LATER - Save any web page instantly with one click or by using the Alt+S shortcut on Windows or Ctrl+S on Mac. - Full offline reading access without an internet connection. Perfect for reading during flights, commutes, or focused times. - The built-in Reader Mode removes ads, banners, and clutter for a better reading experience. - Highlight key passages as you read. Highlights are saved with the article and restored every time you come back. - Estimated reading time and a live progress bar for every article. TidyShelf remembers where you stopped and takes you right back there. - Dark Mode and adjustable font sizes help make long-form reading more comfortable. ORGANIZE YOUR READING LIST - Switch between All and Unread tabs to see everything or just focus on new articles. - Use tags to label and group articles by topic, project, or source, whatever works best for you. - Search lets you quickly find saved items by title, tag, or domain. - View stats on saved and read articles, reading streaks, words saved per day, and top sites. YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL - To back up or move your library, select 'Import' or 'Export' to save your library as a JSON file. - All data stays in your browser's local storage and is not accessible to anyone, including us. - No servers. No analytics. No tracking. No email. No password. TidyShelf is perfect for saving long reads, essays, blog posts, news stories, and research pages to read later. It's a private, local-only alternative to cloud read-later services. Your reading list stays clean, offline, private, and completely yours.
