HOW IT WORKS • Hover: A 📋 (Transcript) and ✨ (AI Summary) button appears on thumbnails and the inline preview. • Click: ThumbSkript fetches the captions and (optionally) runs a local summary in the background. • Paste: The result is copied to your clipboard with a compact header (title, channel, duration, URL). CORE FEATURES • One-Click Transcripts: Copy the best available caption track immediately; optional [MM:SS] timestamps. • On-Device AI Summaries: Chrome-only Gemini Nano (Prompt API) produces concise 5–8 bullet summaries locally—no API keys or third-party servers. • Session History: Recent transcripts & summaries are available in the popup for the current browser session. • Seamless UX: Instant caching for repeat clicks, configurable button visibility, and no sign-in required. PRIVACY & NOTES • Local Processing: Summaries run on your device when Chrome’s Prompt API is ready—no external AI requests. • YouTube Captions: Transcripts are fetched from YouTube; videos without captions (or certain live streams) are not supported. • Session Storage: Generated items are kept only for the active browser session and are cleared when the browser closes or the extension is reloaded. • Preferences: Settings (visibility, timestamps, AI toggle) are stored securely and may sync across your browser account.
