Overview

Focus by force: limit your browser to just 3 tabs (adjustable) and block the rest.

Too many tabs = too little focus. ThreeTabs gives your browser a hard limit: only 3 tabs open at a time (you choose the number, 1 to 50). Try to open another one and it never gets to exist. No willpower needed. No dashboards, no guilt. Just a limit that keeps you on the one thing in front of you. HOW IT WORKS • Pick your limit. Three by default, adjustable from 1 to 50. • Open one tab too many (Ctrl+T, a link, a new window) and it is closed instantly. • Finish something, close a tab, then open the next one. One thing at a time. FEATURES • Hard tab limit: 3 by default, 1 to 50 in settings • Blocks new tabs and new windows once you are at the limit • Optional "redirect" mode: a blocked link opens in the tab you came from instead of being lost • Count across all windows, or give every window its own budget • Quiet by design: no numbers or badges nagging you in the toolbar • Popup with your three slots, a focus-mode switch and a blocked-tabs counter • Never closes tabs you already have open. Only new ones are stopped. • Focus mode toggle for the moments you really need more tabs • Settings always open, even when you are over the limit PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts • Never reads or sends your browsing history • Settings stay on your device • The only network request is an optional once-a-day check for a new version on GitHub (can be turned off in settings) FREE AND OPEN SOURCE ThreeTabs is MIT licensed.
