Thread On — Read long. Stay on thread.
Overview
Keep the current chapter in view while reading long articles and documentation.
Read long. Stay on thread. When you are several screens into a long article, the context can disappear long before the words do. Thread On keeps the current chapter visible in a compact, draggable capsule, so you always know what this section is about. Thread On does not replace or restyle the original page. It follows the site's heading structure and stays quiet when the page does not look like a trustworthy long-form reading surface. Key features: - A compact, draggable capsule with a tactile, skeuomorphic design; position is remembered per site - Double-click to restore the default position - Hover to browse the complete heading outline, then click any section to jump to it - A progress ring shows your position through the entire article - Smart or always-on display modes - Yields to native tables of contents, page search, site dialogs, and other overlays - Silently ignores list pages, search results, marketing pages, and AI chat conversations - Per-site disable option - English and Simplified Chinese interface Useful for technical documentation, wikis, READMEs, HTML academic papers, legal texts, Wikipedia, personal blogs, Substack articles, and other structured long-form pages. The built-in PDF viewer is not supported because its content is outside the webpage DOM. Pages without reliable section structure remain silent by design.
