Overview
Seamless AI session continuity for Claude and ChatGPT. Rolling checkpoints, smart merge, precision handoff.
Thread — Session Continuity for Claude and ChatGPT Every AI conversation has a context limit. When you hit it, the AI starts forgetting — losing earlier decisions, missing nuance, repeating itself. Thread fixes that. Thread runs silently in the background while you work, capturing rolling snapshots of your session every few messages. When you're ready to move on, it compresses everything into a precision handoff — your decisions, your code, your context, your open questions — and opens a fresh session ready to pick up exactly where you left off. No re-explaining. No starting over. No lost context. How it works: Thread monitors your Claude and ChatGPT sessions in real time. As your conversation grows, Thread captures checkpoint snapshots automatically. When you click "Continue in New Session," Thread merges all checkpoints into a single unified state document, copies it to your clipboard, and opens a fresh session — named after your original conversation so you never lose the thread. What you need: An Anthropic API key is required for checkpoint capture and session merging. An OpenAI API key is optional for ChatGPT sessions. Your keys are used only to call the respective APIs directly from your browser — no Thread backend, no accounts, no data sent anywhere else. Works with: Claude (claude.ai) and ChatGPT (chatgpt.com)
