Thoth is a local-first writing assistant for Chrome. It helps you check grammar, rewrite tone, and turn short notes into emails or essays — while keeping your writing on your computer by default. WHAT THOTH DOES • Grammar & spelling — underlines issues as you type in text fields (Gmail, Docs, forms, and more) • Rewrite — change tone or clarity of selected text from a floating menu • Generate — turn brief notes into an email or essay draft • Optional API mode — use your own OpenAI or Groq key if you want cloud speed; otherwise everything stays local PRIVACY Thoth does not create an account or send your drafts to a Thoth cloud. By default, text goes only to the Thoth server on your machine (localhost) and local Ollama. Password and payment fields are ignored. See the full privacy policy in the listing. REQUIREMENTS Thoth needs the companion local app/server running on your computer (Thoth.app on Mac, or the Thoth server on Windows), plus Ollama for rewrite/generate.
