Overview

Mark accessibility barriers on a webpage and turn exact evidence into reviewable findings.

TheWCAG Evidence Capture turns "something is wrong on this page" into exact, reviewable accessibility evidence. Instead of describing a barrier from memory, select the affected component or region directly on the page. The extension captures an element screenshot with its selector and surrounding context, lets you describe what happened and what you expected, records reproduction steps, and suggests WCAG 2.2 success criteria for review. The result is evidence precise enough for a developer to find and fix the exact element. HOW IT WORKS Open the side panel or toolbar popup and choose Component or Region capture. Click the element on the page (fully keyboard operable: Tab or arrows to move, Enter to capture, Esc to cancel). Describe the barrier, pick affected user groups, and review the evidence in the panel. Keep it local, or send it to the TheWCAG desktop workstation where it becomes a structured audit finding with an immutable ID. LOCAL UNTIL YOU APPROVE Everything stays on your machine. Captures and drafts are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is transmitted anywhere until you explicitly review and approve it, and the optional desktop hand-off talks only to the TheWCAG app running on your own computer. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics. WORKS ALONE OR WITH THE DESKTOP WORKSTATION The extension is fully useful standalone. Pair it with the free TheWCAG desktop app (macOS and Windows) to land captures in the right audit and sample as reviewable findings. BUILT FOR ACCESSIBILITY WORK, ACCESSIBLY Keyboard operable end to end, visible focus indicators, screen reader announcements for every state change, and respect for reduced motion and forced colors.
