Manuscript from Thesis Sync is a research tool to assist graduate students or hobby researchers in finding ideas, analyzing previous research, and writing papers based on 250 Million-plus published research articles. All writing is grounded in either your writing or actual articles. This extension provides one-click capture of any page into your Manuscript account — clean article text, the metadata that matters (title, authors, DOI, publication), and the files and media attached to the page. Built for researchers and students who live in the literature. What you can capture • Web pages — distraction-free article text plus rich metadata (JSON-LD, Highwire, Dublin Core, and Open Graph), so papers and articles land tidy. • Linked files — tick the PDFs, slides, and documents on a page and save them alongside it. • Google Slides — exported straight to PDF. • Videos — transcripts from YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, and Loom, pulled in as searchable text when the platform exposes them. • Screenshots and tab recordings — capture the visible tab or record it, with optional audio. Where it goes Captures land in your Manuscript Resources panel, grouped by source. Drag any card into a document to cite it, or "Add to Prompt" to feed it to the AI. Private by design • Everything you capture goes only to the Manuscript instance you connect — nothing is sent to us. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no remote code. • The extension does nothing until you click it, and only reads the tab you're on. It doesn't run in the background or watch your browsing. • Your access token is stored locally on your device. Setup Generate a developer token in Manuscript → Account → Developer, paste it into the extension (the Manuscript URL is pre-filled), and you're connected.
