Theme Studio for GitHub changes how github.com and gist.github.com look and feel. Pick one of 31 handcrafted themes, add an animated background, and let GitHub react with short cinematic effects and sound when you star, fork, open a pull request or merge. Everything runs locally in your browser. There is no account, no server and no tracking. THEMES - 31 themes: 15 classics (Midnight, Dracula, Tokyo Night, Nord, Catppuccin Mocha, One Dark, Monokai, Gruvbox Dark and more), 8 cinematic (Cyberpunk, Synthwave, Matrix, Aurora, Neo Noir, Deep Space, Crimson Night, Sunset Drive) and 8 light themes (Snow, Catppuccin Latte, Solarized Light, Gruvbox Light, Paper, Mint Breeze, Sakura, Lavender Mist). - The whole site is restyled, not just the background: code, diffs, labels, banners, menus, forms, issues, pull requests, Actions, settings and gists, with readable contrast kept. - Build your own: start from any theme and change six colors, the particle style, the background scene, the sound pack and the corner style. EFFECTS AND SOUND - Star, fork, open a pull request, merge, release, close an issue, comment, react, approve a review and more each get a short themed effect with particles, a title card and a sound. - Sixteen kinds of actions, each with its own on/off switch and a preview button. - All sounds are synthesized live in your browser, in four packs: Cinematic, Arcade, Soft and Sci-fi. The extension contains no audio files. - Respects your system's "reduce motion" setting: you get static cards instead of particles, shake and transitions. MAKE IT YOURS - Accent color, corner radius, font, neon glow, animated background scenes, and your own wallpaper with dim and blur. - Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+. for the next theme, Alt+Shift+, for the previous one, Alt+Shift+T to turn it on or off. You can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. - Turning it off restores GitHub exactly as it was. PRIVACY - Runs only on github.com and gist.github.com. - Does not read, collect or send repository data, tokens or page content. No analytics, no remote code, no remote fonts. - Your choices are saved with Chrome's storage, so they follow your Chrome profile. Requires Chrome 111 or newer.
