The Reading Room — Save a Story

Save AO3 and FanFiction.net stories to your private Reading Room library and see what you have read before.

Keep track of the fan fiction you want to read, are reading, and have already finished. The Reading Room lets you save stories from Archive of Our Own and FanFiction.net to your personal reading library. Open a story, click the book icon, review its details, choose a shelf, and save. • Capture the available title, author, characters, relationships, word count, rating, and summary. • Organize stories into Want to read, Currently reading, Finished, or Did not finish. • Recognize stories already in your library and see whether you have read them before. • Add personal notes and an optional finish date. • Record characters separately from optional relationships, including groups of three or more. Stories without romance belong here too. • Open your full library to search, organize, and revisit your reading history. When updating an existing story’s shelf or finish date, your saved details and notes stay intact. Missing page information can be reviewed before saving. Saving requires a free Reading Room account at ffreadingroom.com. Confirm your email on the website, then sign in separately in the extension. Designed for desktop Chrome. The extension reads supported story metadata when you open it; it does not monitor unrelated tabs or host story text.
