Each individual possesses a slender, grizzled coat of tan and grey fur, which provides excellent camouflage against the sun-baked earth of their desert habitat. The dark rings around their eyes are a remarkable evolutionary trait, acting like natural sunglasses to reduce the sun’s glare and aid their vision in the bright open plains.
