Standing proudly amidst the tall, golden grasses of an open field, this magnificent ground bird is an adult male Ring-necked Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). The bird’s plumage is a mosaic of rich, iridescent colors, featuring a dark, glossy green head that contrasts sharply with the bright scarlet-red wattles surrounding the eye.
