Overview

Bypasses CORS restrictions for thedevstools.com API Tester.

The Devs Tools API Tester Companion is a lightweight developer utility extension designed to complement the online REST API Client & Request Tester on thedevstools.com. Features: • Complete CORS Bypass: Relays your API client queries directly through a background service worker context, bypassing browser Same-Origin Policy (CORS) limitations. • Local Host Support: Safely test API endpoints residing on localhost or local network IPs (e.g., http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost:8080) directly from the client. • Preserved Cookies & Headers: Supports authenticated testing, passing cookies, credentials, and custom headers without cross-origin configuration friction. • Secure & Private: Operates entirely locally. The extension does not collect, log, or transmit any request details, API payloads, or cookies to external servers. It only listens to messages sent from trusted website origins (localhost, 127.0.0.1, and thedevstools.com). Requirements: This extension serves as a client-side bridge and is only active when interacting with the API Tester tool at thedevstools.com.
