Overview

Tells you when a thcos video is waiting for your browser, and gives you your workspaces at a click.

thcos Companion tells you when a thcos video is waiting for your browser, and puts your workspaces one click from the toolbar. WHY IT EXISTS thcos builds your video on the server. That part keeps going whether or not you are at your computer. But turning a finished build into a playable file happens in a browser — so a video can be completely ready and still be waiting for a tab to be open. That is a genuinely unusual thing to ask of anyone, and the only fair response is to say so plainly and in advance, rather than letting you discover it by wondering where your video went. WHAT IT DOES • A toolbar badge with the number of videos waiting, checked every five minutes. • One notification when that number rises — not a repeat every five minutes, because a reminder you learn to ignore is worth nothing on the day it matters. • A panel listing your workspaces, with an amber dot on the ones that have work waiting, and those sorted to the top. • "+ New" to start a workspace without going hunting for the button. • Every reading carries its age — "checked 4m ago" — and that label is also the refresh button. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO It will not invent an answer. If a check fails it says nothing, rather than showing you a reassuring "nothing waiting" that it cannot back up. It cannot help while Chrome is closed, because then it is not running either. What it closes is the common gap: Chrome open, you are busy with something else, and no thcos tab. It cannot encode the video itself. Chrome extensions may not load remotely-hosted code, and a bundled copy of the renderer would drift from the real one — whose failure mode is a corrupt video that still reports success. So the extension reports, and the app encodes. PRIVACY No content scripts. It cannot read, alter, or see any page you visit. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no third-party requests, no remote code. It talks to app.thcos.com and nothing else, using the session you already have there, and keeps a single count on your own machine so it can tell a new alert from a repeat. Requires a thcos account at app.thcos.com.
