Text Fetcher – Copy from Images (OCR), Enable Right-Click
1 rating
)Overview
Copy text from images with on-device OCR. Enable right-click, text selection & copy on sites that block them - all locally.
Most "allow copy" extensions run everywhere and break the sites you use. It does two things no simple "allow copy" tool does well: 1. Pulls real, editable text out of images - screenshots, scans, photos, infographics and copy-protected PDFs - using on-device OCR in 40+ languages. 2. Re-enables right-click, text selection and copy/paste on pages that disable them, using a deep unlock engine that handles tricks most extensions miss. And it does it without breaking the websites you use - because it's off by default and runs only where you switch it on. ▬▬▬ What you can do ▬▬▬ - Copy text from images (OCR) - select any region of the screen and get clean, editable text. Powered by Tesseract, 40+ languages, runs entirely on your device. - Restore right-click - bring back the context menu on sites that disable it. - Re-enable text selection & copy/paste — highlight and copy from "protected" pages. - Beat the deep tricks - defeats `user-select: none` locks, invisible blocking overlays, right-click/selection scripts, `@media print` content-hiding, obfuscated-font scrambling, and Shadow DOM-protected text. - Per-site control - turn it on only for the domains you choose, with separate toggles for selection and right-click. Your apps keep working. - Keyboard shortcuts — toggle on the current site (Alt+Shift+F) or start OCR (Alt+Shift+O). ▬▬▬ Why Text Fetcher instead of a basic "allow copy" extension ▬▬▬ - It doesn't break your pages. Aggressive unblockers run on every site and break buttons, menus and web apps. Text Fetcher is opt-in per domain and is built to preserve normal page behaviour — including Gmail and Google Docs gestures. - It reads images. Basic tools only toggle copy on/off. Text Fetcher extracts text from images and scanned PDFs that have no selectable text at all. - It goes deeper. Overlays, Shadow DOM, print-hiding CSS and obfuscated fonts defeat simple toggles — Text Fetcher handles them. - It's genuinely private. OCR runs locally with no servers, no uploads, no tracking and no account. Just the permissions it needs, nothing more. ▬▬▬ Perfect for ▬▬▬ Researchers, students, writers, developers, journalists and anyone who needs to quote, save or reference content that a website has locked down. ▬▬▬ Privacy ▬▬▬ Text Fetcher processes everything on your device. It does not collect, transmit or sell your data. OCR never sends your images to any server.
