Text Extractor (Smart Copy)
Overview
Draw a rectangle box to smartly extract and copy layout text from any web elements.
Text Extractor is a lightweight browser extension designed to help copy text from web pages. When reading multi-column articles or encountering pages where text selection is inconvenient, this tool offers a simple way to assist you. ⚠️ Important Limitation Note: This tool extracts text directly from the web page's DOM tree (HTML structure) and does NOT include OCR image recognition. Therefore, it CANNOT extract text rendered inside Canvas elements (such as certain online document viewers) or images. 💡 Key Features: 1. Drag & Copy: Hold the default shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+Shift) and drag a box over the text area. Release to copy text to your clipboard. 2. Layout Alignment: Automatically formats multi-column text in natural reading order (top-to-bottom, left-to-right) to reduce manual cleanup. 3. Selection Assistance: Helps select text on pages with user-select:none CSS rules. 4. Visible Text Filtering: Filters out hidden or off-screen text, keeping mostly visible characters. 5. Dual Activation Modes: Supports temporary shortcut mode and persistent mode via icon click or context menu. 🔒 Privacy & Security: Runs 100% locally in your browser sandbox. No servers, no tracking, and no data collection.
