Overview

Connect Chrome to a local AI session. Network capture, request interception, telemetry detection, page interaction. Localhost only.

Tethernet is a developer tool that connects Chrome to a locally-running AI session (Claude Code or Claude Desktop) via the Model Context Protocol. It is not an AI extension. It contains no AI. It connects your browser to a local server you run. Most browser MCP extensions give Claude click-and-read. Tethernet adds the network layer: - Full HTTP response bodies via Chrome Debugger API — no DevTools needed - Passive Mode: silent ring buffer logs all network activity as you browse - Request interception and replay — hook fetch/XHR, modify payloads, stub responses - Telemetry detection — classifies GA4, Segment, Amplitude, Conviva, Nielsen, Comscore, Adobe, Datadog, New Relic Read page content, take screenshots, click/type/fill forms, execute JavaScript, capture WebSocket frames, manage cookies, run Lighthouse audits on your real authenticated session, store site layout maps across sessions. **How to connect** 1. Run: claude mcp add tethernet --scope user -- npx -y @drbenedictporkins/tethernet-mcp 2. Ask Claude: "What's the Tethernet port?" 3. Click the icon, enter the port, connect All traffic goes to ws://localhost:PORT — your machine only. Nothing sent externally.
